Skincare and Assured Brand products being sold at Dollar Tree stores were flagged as being potentially unsafe because of their connection to third-party suppliers that have history of non-compliance with FDA regulations. The FDA claims the chain receives over-the-counter drugs including acne treatment pads made by foreign manufacturers that pose “serious violations” to federal laws.

The Food & Drug Administration urged the chain of stores to stop selling these products and to implement a system to prevent its stores to not import adulterated drugs. “Americans expect and deserve drugs that are safe, effective and that meet our standards for quality. The FDA’s director of compliance says “The importation and distribution of . . . products from manufacturers that violate federal law is unacceptable.”
